Virtues of Ayatul Kursi

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) declared: Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi after each obligatory prayer will find solace in their soul at the moment of death.

In another hadith, it is mentioned that those who recite Ayatul Kursi following the five obligatory prayers will encounter no obstacle to enter Paradise except death. Consequently, immediately after death, such individuals will experience the tranquility of Allah’s Paradise.

According to a hadith, reciting Ayatul Kursi before sleeping results in Allah assigning an angel to stand guard near the person’s head throughout the night, protecting them from malevolent jinn and Satan.

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) conveyed: “Whoever recites Ayatul Kursi and blows upon their wealth, no thief can take it.” This incident, narrated by Hazrat Abu Huraira (RA), recounts an occasion when the Prophet (SAW) entrusted him with guarding some wealth. Despite falling asleep, he recited Ayatul Kursi, blew on the wealth, and peacefully slept. A thief attempted to steal the wealth but failed and retreated.

Those who recite Ayatul Kursi will be granted the privilege to enter through all eight gates of Paradise.

May Allah grant us the ability to memorize Ayatul Kursi, recite it regularly, and remain conscious of its significance in our lives (Ameen). If you find this article beneficial, please share it, as sharing enables others to read and ensures you partake in the rewards.

benefits of ayatul kursi

Ayat Al-Kursi is revered for its tremendous virtues, with authentic Hadith describing it as “the greatest Ayah in the Book of Allah.”

Imam Ahmad recorded that Ubayy bin Kab, when asked about the greatest Ayah, repeatedly responded with “Ayat Al-Kursi.” The Prophet confirmed its significance, stating that this Ayah has a tongue and lips that sanctify the King (Allah) near the Throne.

Abu Umaamah narrated that the Prophet said: “Whoever reads Ayatul-Kursi after every obligatory prayer, nothing prevents him from entering Paradise except death.”

Furthermore, `Ali reported the Prophet saying: “Whoever reads Aayatul Kursi after each obligatory prayer, there is nothing that prevents him from entering Paradise except death. It is only a righteous worshipper who would persist in reciting it regularly.”

Additionally, it is reported that reciting Ayat-al-Kursi after concluding an obligatory prayer places the individual under Allah’s care until the next prayer commences.

Sayyidina Abu Huraira reported that the Prophet said, “The hump of the Quran is surah al-Baqarah, and the chief of all verses is Ayat ul-Kursi.”

Before bedtime, reciting Ayat-al-Kursi ensures Allah’s appointed guard, protecting the reciter from Satan until morning.

Finally, if recited after performing Wudhoo, the reward is likened to 40 years of worship, a raised position in the heavens, and marriage to 40 Hoorains.
